The outpatient surgery department at GMS Hospital specializes in the surgical procedures that do not require hospitalization. Surgical interventions are performed using "one-day surgery" technologies in our outpatient surgical ward or surgical first-aid facility, which are equipped with modern equipment for minimally invasive operations. This reduces the time required for postoperative recovery as well as the surgical procedure itself.
Outpatient surgery is not an alternative to an inpatient facility, but a supplement to it. Surgical procedures in many cases do not require complicated surgical strategies or hospital stays. One-day surgery is appropriate for a wide range of health issues and has the following benefits:
The decision to use outpatient surgery is made by the doctor, based on the specific clinical case. One-day surgery can quickly and effectively solve a range of medical problems, including the correction of physical imperfections and pathologies, and the treatment of dysfunctions caused by illness or trauma. The advanced technology of the outpatient surgical facility at GMS Hospital makes it possible for our specialists to perform even the most delicate and technically complex surgical interventions without extended hospital stays.
The outpatient surgery department is located at 45 Kalanchevskaya street in Moscow. The clinic is equipped with a modern surgical ward and comfortable patient day rooms. You will receive the medical care you need, the same day that you arrive.
At GMS Hospital's outpatient surgery department we perform many types of operations:
Our specialists are highly qualified and have many years of practical experience, and with the use of microsurgery technology they can perform outpatient surgery in fields such as gynecology, urology, and proctology. You can sign up for a consultation with a surgeon at any time, by phone or using our online form.
To properly identify a patient's medical issue, we have at our disposal the most advanced diagnostic methods:
Many types of surgery can be performed using endoscopy. These procedures must be preceded by a preoperational examination that includes a blood and urine analysis and an EKG. This can be done immediately before the operation.
Sign up for a consultation with a surgeon if you notice the following:
Depending on the scope of the treatment, operations are performed under local or general anesthesia. The surgical strategy is selected by the doctor on an individual basis for each patient.
All operations at the GMS Hospital outpatient surgery department are performed by leading specialists with many years of experience. Our surgeons make extensive use of low-impact endoscopic technology, laser surgery and radiowave surgery. The use of advanced microsurgery techniques allows us to perform operations delicately, with as little risk to the patient as possible.
Minimally-invasive technologies provide the following benefits:
For outpatient surgery at GMS we use endoscopic equipment with high-end optics for better visualization, and innovative laser-surgery and radiowave surgery apparatus. All operations are performed using advanced anesthesia, in the sterile conditions of an outpatient operating room. If short-term medical observation is necessary following the surgery, patients spend 1-2 hours in a comfortable outpatient day room.
Comprehensive rehabilitation after minor surgery generally involves controlling swelling and facilitating the healing of surgical incisions. GMS Clinic has at its disposal a wide range of modern technologies for recuperative therapy, helping the patient return to full health as soon as possible. The doctor takes into account various factors - age, general state of health, lifestyle, etc. - when compiling recommendations for the patient's recovery. You can get more detailed information about surgical interventions and postoperative recovery time by signing up for a consultation with a surgeon.
I am writing to you, on behalf of my wife Helen and myself, to thank all the staff of GMS clinic for the help and support you gave us during our stay in Moscow.
Since, I am ashamed that admit that I speak no Russian, I hope that you will be willing to translate this for the members of the GMS staff who do not speak English.
My own doctor seems pleased with the progress I am making. I still have a dressing on one of the wounds where the stitches may have been removed prematurely before I left the clinic but the others are fine and healing well.
Being ill and requiring surgery in another country will always be something of an ordeal, but the calm reassuring atmosphere in the GMS clinic did much to make us feel better about the experience. The administrative staff at reception was kind as well as efficient and their efforts on our behalf are something that we will never forget. We would also like to thank the cooks for the excellent food they prepared. We regret that we did not get the opportunity to meet them but we greatly appreciated their efforts and, after almost a week without normal food, I particularly enjoyed being able to choose from their extensive menu. Please forgive me for not always doing justice to the meals served but it has taken some time for my appetite to return to normal. We would also like to thank the room attendants for serving our meals so well and keeping our room so clean and tidy. Just as important for us, when so far from home, was that they always did so with a gracious smile. We looked forward to their visits and would like to thank them for being so remarkably patient when we tried to talk to them. We would also like to thank the several kind nurses who cared for me so diligently. I do not believe that I could not have enjoyed more attentive nursing anywhere else in the world and will never forget you. The several doctors who attended me at various stages also need to be thanked. I am grateful to them all but hope that they will forgive me for singling out Dr Constantin Dimitri for a particular mention. His patience, as he explained to me so well in English both what was happening to my body following the operation, and what he and the rest of the medical team were doing - and why – was particularly appreciated and helpful to me during my recovery.
Many, many thanks to you all.
I want to thank you all so much for making my stay in hospital so bearable. You are all so professional and dedicated and it was a pleasure to spend time with you all even under those unusual circumstances.
I am now home and being cared for by my family as well as my own doctor so all is as well. Hopefully I will be up and about soon.
Once again, many thanks and suffice to say, I will never forget you and your staff did for me.
Best wishes always.
Many thanks to Dr. Oleg Sergeevich Abramov, who performed a surgery and helped me cure a severe case of odontogenic sinusitis.
Dr. Abramov is extremely competent and polite, a true professional with a rare set of skills. I have already recommended him to a colleague of mine and will recommend again.

Greetings from South Africa,
This is a follow up to our recent stay at GMS where my wife Merle Step had a complete Hip replacement by you recently.
She stood up to the return trip to South Africa very well and is able move around with the aid of a walker without difficulty. I took her to our local General Practitioner on Friday, with all your reports and X-Ray plates. He commented that he was very happy with the excellent procedures that you carried out and felt that she was in excellent professional hands while at GMS. He has referred her to an orthopedic surgeon for a final checkup and stitch removal. Also she is to go to Physo for further manipulation.
From both of us we cannot express our gratitude enough for the professional service, helpful administrative as well as nursing staff that attended to our needs while at GMS. We will always look back and always remember the Russian people for their friendly assistance to two complete strangers from another part of the world. In turn Russia will always be in our hearts and we will be good Ambassadors for your great country and federation.
Please pass on our greetings and thanks to a few that I remember by names, if I have left anyone out I apologies.
