Monitoring program for outpatient pneumonia

The program is for patients with:

• Mild outpatient pneumonia: fever lower than 38.0° C, SpО₂ saturation (blood oxygen saturation) of more than 95%, no signs of respiratory failure, and up to 25% affected lung tissue based on CT (CT-1);
• Medium-severity outpatient pneumonia: fever higher than 38.0° C, respiratory rate of more than 22 breaths per minute, SpO₂ saturation of 93-95%, C-reactive protein > 10 mg / l, and from 25 to 50% affected lung tissue based on CT (CT-2).

Important!

Pneumonia diagnostics (doctor's examination, laboratory tests, CT of the chest organs) are not included in the program.

What is included in the program:

1. Four home visits by the doctor: on the 2nd, 4th, 6th, and 21st day after the initial consultation.
2. Daily monitoring of the patient's condition by phone consultation. The doctor evaluates:
   • blood oxygen saturation, measured by a pulse oximeter leased to the patient separately;
   • body temperature;
   • general health condition, including checking for shortness of breath and other breathing difficulties;
   • blood pressure level.
3. CT scan of the chest organs without contrast (once during the 21-day period as prescribed by the doctor).
4. Two swabs from nose and throat, performed by a nurse on the 15th and 18th day, to test for coronavirus (PCR method).
5. Blood test: a clinical blood test, determining the level of ALT, AST, and C-reactive protein (on the 4th and 18th day);
6. Blood test for antibodies to COVID-19 on the 18th day.
7. Treatment plan, with correction if necessary. The program does not include the cost of prescribed drugs, which can be purchased at our in-house pharmacy or elsewhere.
